Position Summary: The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and maintaining staffing and scheduling for the nursing department. Working directly wit! h staff and clinical managers, the scheduling coordinator maintains a high level of customer service, flexibility and cooperation with changing schedule needs. Other responsibilities include: - Prepares and revises staffing schedule to reflect call-ins, time changes, class schedules and meetings. - Accurately prepares and maintains the master staffing schedule for nursing personnel.

  • Ensures the Payroll system is updated on a daily basis. - Tracks and reports the weekly use of overtime. - Works with clinical managers to track employee tardiness and absenteeism. - Schedules new nursing department employees with specified preceptors.
  • Completes daily staffing log. - Participates in Position Control meetings to identify open positions for recruitment. - Interacts with Human Resources and Employee Health on leaves of absences and work-related injuries. - Maintains confidentiality of patients and employees at all times.
Position Requirement! s: Experience: Three to five years administrative experien! ce with high level of personnel contact and/or hospital or industrial staffing scheduling experience. Proficiency with computers including Windows and Microsoft Office. Experience working with Kronos, API or other scheduling system preferred. Knowledge of Human Resources policies and an understanding of budgets and labor cost control preferred.

Interpersonal/Business Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures required. Demonstrated clear and concise written and oral communication skills. Strong planning, organizational and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, interpret and act upon performance metrics.

Education: High School diploma with scheduling experience required. Associated Degree preferred. New graduate Bachelor degree students encouraged to apply.
