TCA Health, Inc, NFP, located on the far Southeast side of Chicago, provides quality health care and social services to the medically underserv! ed, primarily the 10,000 residents of the Altgeld Gardens/Murray Homes public housing development. Established in 1970, the health center is a community-based, 22,300 square-foot facility that has successfully provided comprehensive primary care services for over 40 years. TCA Health also staffs a school-based clinic at Carver Military Academy.
We are currently in need of an Internal Medicine Physician.
The Staff Physician/Internist will provide primary care to patients aged 18 years and older by performing physical assessments, developing health care plans, implementing treatment and evaluating patient outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to the following);
Medical Responsibilities:
Provides preventive and sick adult medical care.
Performs routine physical assessments.
Performs problem-specific physical examinations.
Diagnosis and treats illnesses/disease.
Develops, i! mplements, evaluates and documents plan of care and treatment.
Initiates early intervention for developmental delay and disabilities.
Initiates referrals to other medical/nursing/specialty services as needed.
Performs health maintenance/disease prevention counseling.
Provides chronic disease management counseling.
Provides patient stabilization in emergency situations.
Administrative Responsibilities
Provides notification and follow-up on abnormal findings.
Review all lab test reports/referrals reports.
Supervises and directs patient care performed by nurses.
Assists in the development and implementation of internal medicine protocols and procedures.
Attend Provider meetings and other meetings as required.
Keeps abreast of new developments in specific area of practice by attending in-services, CME classes and ACLS Certification.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES !
Knowledge of the principles and practice of preventive medicine.
Knowledge of the state and federal laws pertaining to medicine and to community health centers.
Knowledge of the structure and function of community health centers.
Skill in communicating effectively with patients and their families.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of undergraduate and medical degrees in Internal Medicine.
Current State of Illinois Medical License
Board Certification preferred.
Current DEA Certification and CPR AED Certification.
