Your mission
The Chief of Staff will provide day-to-day support to the CEO by giving him additional leverage and amplifying his impact. As a strategic partner and advisor to the CEO, the Chief of Staff will help him oversee the business and effectively manages stakeholder relationships at different levels, up to the Supervisory Board of shareholders.
The role includes the conceptual development of upcoming priorities and initiatives jointly with the CEO and Senior Executives, problem solving with the CEO, the elaboration of key high-visibility documents, project management for selected areas, the organisation of important events in the life of the Company as well as operational support to day-to-day activities.
Your role
- Be a force multiplier for the CEO: frame the strategic conversation with the Executive Committee, proactively follow-up, elaborate and clarify the CEO's agenda, support the Executive Committee in creating alignment, prepare the CEO for Shareholder/ Board meetings
- Be a thought partner and strategic, data-driven advisor to the CEO; be a challenger and creator of ideas, partnering with the CEO, then frame with clarity and advance those ideas jointly with the Executive team
- Lead selected projects, as directed by the CEO
- Develop financial models and projections to evaluate the financial impact of potential M&A transactions
- Translate strategic and operational priorities into a well thought-through annual meeting calendar and operating cadence (e.g. Executive Committee offsites, Supervisory Board meetings, SteerCos)
- Organise Executive Committee meetings and offsites: from agenda elaboration to efficient meeting delivery and post-meeting follow-up
- Organise Board meetings (as described above) jointly with the CFO, conceptualising and developing Executive management and Supervisory board documents
- Be a trusted team member: the Chief of Staff must be trusted and valued by the Executive Committee as well as the CEO; the candidate must challenge the Executive Committee members and lead by influence
- Support the CEO and external advisors in the definition and delivery of the Executive Committee's Top Team Leadership journey
Skills we are looking for
- +5 years of experience, within private equity, strategy consulting, or investment with top performance
- Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and capacity to direct, produce, and communicate business and financial analyses at an executive level
- Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for conceptual thinking
- Proven success in stakeholder management, for instance, the ability to influence without authority, the ability to serve as a trusted advisor, and proven success in gaining a seat at the table
- Must be able to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning is the norm
- Track record of collaboration with senior executives. Must be comfortable delivering formal presentations to management
- Strong process management and organization skills
- Self-starter who can take on significant responsibility and drive problem-solving and process change independently
- Knows what a good Chief of Staff delivers; either from having performed the role, or having seen it done
- Fluent in English, with German a plus and an international mindset
