The Director of Rehabilitation Services is responsible for the overall management and ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the rehabilitati! on department. Monitors admissions and treatment schedules, tracks MDS assessment periods and data, provides administrative supervision and case management. Continuously carries out the Elmhurst Extended Care mission to attain excellence in the provision of health care services by consistently fulfilling the commitment to quality, and by compassionately and skillfully delivering continuously improving total patient-centered service Directs therapy staff to screen patients and determine rehabilitation needs Collaborates with nursing and admission departments on preparing for new admissions Track MDS Assessment Period Data to include: disciplines , treatment days/week and daily treatment times Establishes and meets department goals and objectives adhering to both State and Federal guidelines Monitors department performance and participates in facility performance improvement efforts Maintains staffing levels through efficient recruitment and retention efforts Responsible for ! budget preparation and administration to include personnel, su! pply and capital budget expenditures Ensure Elders privacy and maintaining the dignity and rights of patients and families Communicates and interacts with facility personnel to ensure continued satisfaction with rehabilitation services and delivery of care. Position Requirements: Education: Bachelors of Science Degree, Masters Degree or Doctorate Degree in an allied health field.
Experience: Minimum of one to two years of rehab management experience required. Knowledge of Long Term Care industry and MDS billing is required. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, adaptability and tact. Licensure: Must be licensed therapist in State of Rhode Island.
