Ottawa Regional Medical Center, a part of OSF Healthcare, is seeking an experienced Pediatric Nur! se Practitioner to join our growing practice.
The Nurse Practitioner will provide a full range of primary care pediatric nurse practitioner services, including but not limited to:
Perform routine developmental screenings.
Diagnose and treat common childhood illnesses.
Provide childhood immunizations and perform school and sports physicals.
Perform procedures and prescribe pediatric treatment and medications based on assessment results and standards of care.
Secure a health and developmental history from the patient or parent; record findings and make critical evaluation.
Examine patients, determine need for radiological examinations and clinical laboratory tests, and interpret examinations findings and test results. Also, perform or request special screening and developmental tests and interpret the results.
Evaluate total health care needs of patients and develops plan to meet these needs. Teach patien! ts and family members different ways to maintain or improve th! eir health status.
Make appropriate referrals to general pediatrician, family practice physician, and/or specialty physician as warranted.
The physician staff includes four Family Practice physicians, five Internists, one Pediatrician, and three Nurse Practitioners typically seeing 20-25 patients per day.
The group is located in a modern and spacious state-of-the-art 23,000 square foot facility in Ottawa, IL. On-site services include laboratory (CLIA certified moderately complex), general x-ray, mammography, ultrasound, colposcopy, dexa scan, nuclear scans, and echocardiography. A full service pharmacy is also located within the building. A newly constructed satellite office in nearby Marseilles, IL was completed and opened in May 2010. Express Care, a new urgent care facility adjoining the Medical Center opened in April, 2011. EPIC electronic health record system is in full use in all locations.
Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 p! m with limited weekends.
