This position is located within the PC AMBULATORY PRIMARY CARE at the CAPT James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC) in North Chicago, IL. The FHCC is a first-of-its-kind partnership between the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), and Department of Navy (DoN)/Department of Defense (DoD). It is larger than just a single facility, but rather it is a fully-integrated medical care facility with a single combined VA and Navy mission. DUTIES:
The CAPT James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL is seeking an Internist/Family Practice Physician for its Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) located in McHenry, IL. This position requires a provider, board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, who is committed to delivering innovative, quality care to our nation's Veterans. The incumbent will manage a Primary Care panel in a team setting and will be responsible for the achievement of quality of care standards, process improvement and patient satisfaction. The clinic serves approximately 3,500 Veterans and provides, in addition to primary and behavioral health care, some diagnostic and specialty services, including a wide range of specialty services via cutting-edge Telehealth technology.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
BASIC ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Citizen of the United States. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completed a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed. For a VA resident, the appropriate Deans Committee and Resident Review Board may recommend appointment on the basis of the candidate's acceptability for residency training. Complete physical examination, which may include drug testing. Must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: Board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
